Disconnect Bluetooth From A Lost Phone

You can disconnect your Bluetooth equipment from a lost cell phone.

Most cell phones are now capable of connecting to outside equipment via Bluetooth technology. Bluetooth allows you to make and receive phone calls over a wireless connection with a headset or even print with a Bluetooth-passed printer. Bluetooth can also be used to transfer files between a phone and computer or other Bluetooth-enabled devices. However, you can disconnect the Bluetooth hardware if you have lost your cell phone and no longer want the Bluetooth equipment connected to the phone.

Instructions

1. Press and hold down the power button on the wireless headset. If using a printer, turn it off and disconnect the power cable. This performs a hard reset on both devices.

2. Wait a few minutes, then connect the equipment back to its power source (this is not required with headsets).

3. Power the equipment back on to complete the Bluetooth hardware reset and disconnect the hardware from the lost cell phone.
