The Nokia 6300, a mobile phone originally released in 2006, comes with several features, including a 2-MP camera, a wireless application protocol, WAP, Internet browser and a media player. The media player is capable of playing several different audio formats, including MP3s. If you have MP3 files stored on your computer that you'd like to transfer to your Nokia 6300, it can be done in several simple steps with PC Suite a free software program.
Instructions
1. Download and install the free Nokia PC Suite application, if necessary, from the Nokia website.
2. Open the Nokia PC Suite program, which is listed under the "Start" menu. Click on "All Programs" and then "Nokia PC Suite." Click the "Transfer music" icon to open the music transfer application.
3. Click the "Scan PC for Music Files" icon, which is represented with a house and a file folder and is located in the bottom right-hand corner of the window. This opens a pop-up window.
4. Click the "Start Scan" icon, represented by a blue folder, to begin browsing for music files on your computer. This opens a pop-up window. Select the folder that you want PC Suite to scan for music files. If you're unsure of where your music files are located, begin with the "Music" folder.
5. Click the green check mark icon to begin scanning for music files. Once the scan is complete, click the "OK" button to continue.
6. Check the empty boxes next to any songs that you want to transfer to your Nokia 6300.
7. Click the "Copy to Nokia device" icon, represented by a phone and an arrow, located in the bottom right-hand corner of the window. If a pop-up dialog box appears that asks to convert song files, click "Yes" so that the songs are recognized by your Nokia 6300.
8. Disconnect your Nokia 6300 from your computer by right-clicking the USB icon located at the bottom right-hand corner of your computer screen. Select "Safely Remove Hardware" to open a pop-up dialog box. Select "USB Mass Storage Device" from the list of options. Click "Stop." When you're notified that it's safe to do so, disconnect your Nokia 6300 from your computer.
9. Update your phone's music player by navigating to its "Menu" on the home screen, followed by "Media," and then "Music Player." Select "Music Library" from the "Music Player" menu, and then select "Update Music Library." After updating your music library, the songs you transferred from your computer appears in your Nokia 6300 music library.
