The Nokia N95 phone provides a method for owners to install the SIM card on their own without the need for professional support. Without the SIM card installed, your phone will not connect to a cell phone company's network and as a result it will not be possible for you to perform basic functions, such as placing or receiving calls. The SIM card can be installed by removing the back panel and battery and then inserting it into the SIM card slot. After inserting the card and switching on the phone, you may be prompted to enter a code to unlock the device.
Instructions
1. Press and hold the power button to turn the phone off if it is currently turned on.
2. Turn the phone over and place it on an even surface with the back of the phone facing you.
3. Press the release button at the bottom of the phone's back panel, slide the cover down, and lift it directly up.
4. Remove the battery from its place.
5. Lift the SIM card holder up and insert the SIM card with the card's contact area matching the phone's connectors. The diagonal corner of the card should face the base of the phone.
6. Place the SIM card holder down on the card to lock it in.
7. Insert the battery back into its initial position.
8. Attach the back panel of the phone by aligning each of the locking catches with their slots and then sliding the panel upward.
9. Press and hold the power button to turn the phone on and activate the new SIM card. Enter the (U)PIN code or lock code and press the top-left selection key. The default lock code is 12345.
