Extract A Ring Tone To A Tracfone W376

A custom ring tone can help your TracFone stand out.

The TracFone Motorola W376 is a prepaid cell phone available on AT&T and T-Mobile services. The main difference between a TracFone and most other cell phones is that you don't need to buy a monthly contract for activation. As for multimedia features (text messages, ring tones, images), you'll be able to do everything you could do with any other phone. In order to extract ring tones from your computer to your TracFone, you'll just need to connect the two devices.

Instructions

1. Connect your TracFone W376 to your computer via the USB cable that came with your phone. Plug one end of the cable into your phone and plug the other end into the USB port on your computer.

2. Open your TracFone's folder on your computer. This folder should open (or you''ll be prompted to open it) as soon as you connect the phone to your computer. But if not, you can do so manually. Open "My Computer," and you will see your phone's folder listed under "Devices With Removable Storage." Double-click on your phone's folder to open it.

3. Navigate to the ring tone file you would like to extract to your TracFone.

4. Click on the ring tone file and drag it to your TracFone's folder. Once you drop it (unclick the mouse), the file will transfer to your cell phone. Once the transfer dialog box completes, close out of your cell phone's folder.

5. Click on the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon in your computer's system tray.

6. Select your device from the list and click on "Remove."

7. Unplug your cell phone from your computer when you're prompted to do so.

8. Open the audio folder on your TracFone W376 and select the ring tone file you just transferred.

9. Open the options menu and select "Set as Ringtone" to set the extracted ring tone as your TracFone's default ring tone.
