You can unlock your Sony Ericsson phone for free with proper code.


Sony locks its cellular phone devices for a number of reasons such as preventing switching to another network provider. Many cell phone companies also lock their phones in a similar manner. However, you can easily unlock your cell phone if you know obtain the proper code for free. If you have a current account with your cell phone company, you can unlock your phone via your network provider.


Instructions


1. Type *#06# on your cell phone. Jot down the number that appears on your cell phone screen called the IMEI number.


2. Call your network provider and ask it for the code to unlock your SIM card. Provide the employee with whom you speak with your IMEI code. This enables the company to send you the code to unlock your SIM card via email.


3. Remove your battery cover from the rear portion of your Sony Ericsson. Take out your SIM card. Put in a SIM that comes from a different cell phone company and put your battery cover back on.


4. Type in the SIM code you received via email and then click on "OK" to complete the unlock process.
