Copy Nokia E71 Contacts From A Sim Card

Your Nokia's SIM card is in the back of your phone.

The Nokia E71 phone comes loaded with features such as a music player, Microsoft Office software and Ovi Maps. It also has the option for you to save your contacts with the Nokia software. However, you also have the option to save the contacts from your Nokia's SIM card. With a SIM card reader, you have the ability to retrieve and save your contacts to your computer. Purchase a SIM card reader from your mobile provider or electronic retailer.

Instructions

1. Install the SIM card reader software to your computer. Insert the disc into your computer's drive. Read and accept the software agreement. Save the software to a folder on your computer's hard drive.

2. Turn off your Nokia E71 phone. Press the release button on the protective cover, located in the back. Lift the battery cover off your phone.

3. Remove the battery from your Nokia. Locate the SIM card, which is in the top center. Lift it up and remove it from your phone.

4. Insert the SIM card into the SIM card reader USB. Insert the USB into your computer's available USB port.

5. Click the "Device Detected" message. Your computer will install the drivers for your SIM card USB. These drivers allow your computer to communicate with the hardware.

6. Double-click the SIM card reader icon. It will detect your Nokia's SIM card. Wait as it retrieves your contacts from the card.

7. Click "Archive." This will save the contacts to your software.
