Change The Battery On A Timex Data Link System Watch

The battery is located on the back of the watch.


Many wristwatches don't come with instructions on change the internal battery. That means that many people just buy a whole new watch whenever the battery runs out. If you own a Timex Data Link watch you'll be pleased to know that it's possible to remove and replace the internal battery without the help of a watch repair expert. And the best part is that you'll save money by not taking the watch into the shop. Does this Spark an idea?


Instructions


1. Insert the blade of your hobby knife into the seam on the back of your Timex where the back cover meets the body of the watch.


2. Pry the back cover gently up and it will pop off of the watch. The circular battery will now be visible in the back of the watch.


3. Use your fingers to peel the tape cover off of the battery itself.


4. Push the clip at the bottom of the battery down and the battery will release from the compartment. Lift the battery out of the compartment and set it aside.


5. Place the new battery in the compartment, making sure that the "+" symbol is facing up.


6. Fit the tape over the battery and replace the cover. Press down firmly on the cover until it snaps in place.
