Use Alltel Blackberry Internet Modem

Use a mini-USB-to-USB cable to connect your BlackBerry's internet service to your computer.


Alltel customers can use BlackBerry smartphones for their phone-as-modem connectivity to access the Internet even when away from home or the office. Provided you have already signed up for a phone-as-modem plan with Alltel, you may exact a USB connection between the BlackBerry and your computer to make use of the smartphone's broadband modem wireless broadband modem.


Instructions


1. Sign up for a phone-as-modem data plan through Alltel Wireless. Contact their customer service to upgrade your plan if necessary. Be sure to install the drivers and setup programs included in your phone-as-modem service welcome package.


2. Insert the mini-USB end of your mini-USB-to-USB cable into the mini-USB port on your BlackBerry smartphone. The BlackBerry will send wireless broadband to your computer through this cable.


3. Insert the USB end of your mini-USB-to-USB cable into an available USB port on your laptop computer.


4. Run the installed phone-as-modem connectivity software to connect the BlackBerry's wireless broadband signal with your laptop computer.
