Unlock your Telus phone with an unlock code to use with another network.
The Motorola W385 is a slim clamshell phone similar to the Motorola RAZR. The device comes equipped with a VGA camera, voice-dialing, GPS and Bluetooth capabilities. Many wireless carriers offer the phone; however, you cannot use the device with another carrier unless you unlock the network. Unlocking the network on your Telus Motorola W385 requires an unlock code. You can obtain the code from Telus by contacting their customer service department.
Instructions
1. Dial "*#06#" from your Motorola W358 to bring up your phone's International Mobile Equipment Identifier (IMEI) number. Write this number down.
2. Dial "611" from your Telus phone to reach a customer service representative. Inform the representative of your intent to unlock your mobile phone.
3. Provide the representative with the IMEI number for your device. Wait for the representative to generate the code and provide it to you. Write down the code before you disconnect the call.
4. Turn off your phone and remove the battery compartment door. Remove the battery and the SIM card.
Insert a SIM card from another wireless carrier into the SIM card slot. Reinsert the battery and compartment door.
5. Turn on your mobile phone and wait for the device to prompt you to "Enter Special Code." The unlock code is the special code that it is referring to. Enter the unlock code in the exactly as it was given to you.
6. Wait for the device to accept the code. The phone will reboot. The Telus logo will no longer appear on the screen, which confirms that the device has been unlocked.
