Edit A Voicemail Number

Edit your voicemail number from your cell phone.

When you have activated your voicemail on your cell phone using the directions of your service provider, you might want to edit or change your voicemail number. This can mean one of two things. A voicemail number can be the number the phone needs to dial to access your voicemail inbox to get your messages. If you have voicemails other places, you can edit the number to call your other inboxes. The voicemail number can also refer to your voicemail identification number, also known as your voicemail password.

Instructions

Changing Voicemail Contact Number

1. Open your contacts folder. Find your voicemail contact either by clicking through the list or using the search function.

2. Open the voicemail contact and click on the view information. You should be able to see the voicemail phone number. This is the number you call when you want to check your voicemails.

3. Click edit on the contact to edit the number. Enter the new number you want the voicemail to call when you want to pick up your voicemails. Click "Save" when you are done editing.

Changing Voicemail Identification Number

4. Call your voicemail to enter the voicemail menu options.

5. Enter your voicemail password when prompted to do so. This password is also called a voicemail identification number or code.

6. Choose the voicemail menu option that suggests making changes to your password. In the sub-menu of the password menu, select the edit or change password option.

7. Provide your new password, which can be an edited version of your original password, and approve this change by providing your existing password. This will confirm your action and change your voicemail password.

8. Return to your voicemail menu and exit your voicemail completely.
