Unlock A Nokia N73 Music Edition Phone

Unlock your N73 Music Edition for use on other networks.

The Nokia N73 Music Edition is a cell phone first released in 2006. Like most other GSM network phones, the N73 Music Edition comes SIM locked when you buy it new. This means that you can only use the service provider from whom you purchased the phone. In order to use other networks' SIM cards, you must first unlock the N73. Not only will unlocking save you money by allowing you to use a less expensive network (especially when traveling abroad), but it also increases the resale value of your phone.

Instructions

1. Obtain your N73's IMEI number by typing "*#06#" into the keypad.

2. Call your network provider's tech support line and request an unlock code. Be ready to give the representative your IMEI number, email address and mobile number. If the representative requests a reason for an unlock code, tell him that you plan on selling your phone, or that you're traveling overseas. If the representative still refuses to give you a code, you can purchase one from mobileunlocksolutions.com, foneszone.co.uk or mobile2mobile.net (see links in "Resources").

3. Power off your phone and remove its SIM card (located beneath the battery).

4. Replace your battery and turn your phone back on with no SIM card in it.

5. Type "#pw+unlock code+1#" (where "unlock code" represents the unlock code that you received in a previous step) when your phone powers back on. Press the "*" button twice to get the "+" symbol. Press the "*" button three times to get the letter "p." Press the "*" button four times to get the letter "w."
