Nokia PC Suite, now called Ovi Suite, is a software program that lets your PC communicate with your Nokia cell phone. Some users might experience connection issues between their PC and cell phone after they have installed the software.
Identification
Nokia announced in 2010 that it would rename its PC Suite program Ovi Suite as part of the launch of its new Ovi Suite of applications. The software, however, remained mostly the same. Nokia Ovi Suite allows you to save and upload data between your Nokia phone and computer.
Symptoms
Nokia Ovi Suite connection problems prevent your phone from communicating with your computer. Typically, it means that your computer does not recognize your phone when it is plugged in using a USB cable. The Nokia Ovi Suite or PC Suite program displays a "Phone not found" error and invites you to try connecting your cell phone again to your computer.
Prevention/Solution
Check your computer's USB port or move the phone to a new port. Also ensure that you selected "Nokia PC Suite" or "Nokia Ovi Suite" as the default connection mode on your phone. If you continue to experience the same problem, launch your computer's Control Panel, select the "Add/Remove Programs" option, click on "Nokia PC Suite" or "Nokia Ovi Suite" and select the "Repair" option. The program will attempt to correct the problem.
