Block Mobile Phone Calls

Receiving unsolicited calls or text messages on your cell phone can be disruptive and annoying. This problem can be especially aggravating if your cell plan requires you to pay for all incoming calls or texts. If you're tired of receiving unwanted calls from telemarketers and people you don't know, there are a few tactics you can use to block incoming calls to your mobile phone.

Instructions

Block Specific Numbers

1. Call your service provider and inquire about blocking specific numbers to your cell phone. Ask about any fees associated with the call-blocking service.

2. Determine if number-blocking services can be applied to both local and international calls or if there are some restrictions.

3. Give your service provider a list of numbers on which to place a block. Ask if the blocks are permanent or need to be renewed periodically.

Use Call Screening

4. Call your service provider and ask for caller ID to be added to your cell phone. Ask if there is an additional charge for the service.

5. Input the names and numbers of all your contacts in your phone so the caller ID can identify them when they call.

6. Ask your provider to implement Anonymous Caller Rejection (ACR). ACR will block any unknown callers from contacting you.
