Nokia 6300 Tricks

The Nokia 6300 is a thin, bar-style cell phone released for wireless customers in 2007. The 6300 is compatible with GSM technology, so you must have a SIM card to use it. The phone connects to the 900, 1800 and 1900 GSM frequencies. In addition to making calls, use the 6300 as a digital camera, FM radio or organizer.

Bluetooth

Use Bluetooth to connect to other phones so you can trade songs, photos and more. You must be within about 30 feet of the other device to connect. From "Menu," click on "Settings," "Connectivity" and "Bluetooth" to get started. Click "My Phone's Name" and come up with a name for the phone that others will recognize. Toggle the "Bluetooth" setting to "On." This enables others to see your phone if they are within range of it. Pick "Paired Devices" to find phones you have previously paired with.

Calling Choices

Click "Settings" and then "Call" from the main menu to see your different call options. "Voice Clarity" helps to eliminate extra background noise during your conversations. "Any Key Answer" allows any button on the phone to serve as a connection button when receiving a call. "Call Waiting" shows you when others are calling you while you are already connected to another call. "Send My Caller ID" sends a text message to the person you are talking to, showing your phone number and area code.

Security

Set up different kinds of passwords for your phone once you click on "Menu," "Settings" and "Security." "PIN Code Request" asks for a password every time the phone is turned on, while "PIN2 Code Request" asks for a password to use specific features. Place check marks next to the features you want the password to apply to. These passwords must be at least four characters long, and are set as "1234" to start out.

Photos and Videos

Once you are in the camera function, click on "Options" and then "Effects" to make changes. Crop your photos or alter the white balance in them. Click "Options" and then "Settings" when a certain image or video has been selected to decide where to save it. All of these files can be saved directly to the phone, directly to the SIM card, or both. If saved to the SIM card, the photos will show up if the SIM card is transferred to another phone.
