Convert Amr To Mp3 On Os X

MP3s are much more compatible with other programs than AMRs.

The AMR or Adaptive Multi-Rate Codec extension is an audio format developed by the Sony Ericsson corporation (fileinfo.com). AMR files are audio recordings created on cell phones, including Sony Ericsson's models. While some programs, such as Apple's QuickTime and RealNetworks' RealPlayer, can interpret the files, most other programs cannot, leaving conversion as your only option. When running Apple's OS X operating system, converting your AMRs into MP3s is a great method for increasing compatibility.

Instructions

First Method

1. Open any browser and navigate to media-convert.com.

2. Click on "Choose File" and find the AMR you want to convert on your computer. Then press "OK."

3. Select "AMR" or "Adaptive Multi-Rate" as your sound format from the input list.

4. Select "MP3" or "MPEG Audio Layer 3" as your output extension.

5. Click "OK" to get the conversion started. A pop-up containing your MP3 appears after the conversion is done.

Second Technique

6. Locate mediaconverter.org in your preferred browser.

7. Press "Upload a File" and find the AMR you wish to convert. The AMR's name appears under "Selected Files."

8. Pick "MP3" for your output extension. Click "Start" to commence the conversion.

9. Click on the link that appears after Mediaconverter is finished with the conversion. This begins your MP3 download.

Third Procedure

10. Load Zamzar.com in any Web browser.

11. Click the "Choose File" button and find the AMR you want to convert.

12. Choose "MP3" as your output movie extension.

13. Give Zamzar your contact address in the "E-mail" section.

14. Click "Convert." After Zamzar completes the AMR to MP3 conversion, you'll be sent an email with a link to your new file.
