Unlock a Nokia 2600C-2 Phone
Unlocking your Nokia 2600C-2, also known as the Nokia Classic, will allow you to use other service providers without having to buy a new phone or sign a contract. It's a process that could potentially give you better coverage and save you money, especially when you're traveling abroad, since you can avoid long distance and roaming fees. It's also advantageous to unlock your phone before reselling it, as the value can be increased by up to 300 percent.
Instructions
1. Obtain your phone's IMEI number by typing "*#06#" into the phone.
2. Contact your service provider and request an unlock code. You'll need to provide your cell number, email address and IMEI number. If the company refuses to give you a code, you can purchase one from a remote unlocking site such as MobileUnlockSolutions, UnlockItNow.com or FonesZone.
3. Turn your phone off, remove its SIM card and turn it back on.
4. Type "#pw+unlock code+1#" (with "unlock code" being the code you received in a previous step). To get the "+" sign, press the "*" button twice. To get the letter "p," press the "*" button three times. To get the letter "w," press the "*" button four times. A message will appear on your screen saying "SIM Restriction Off."
