Reset A Smartphone 2125

Reset the Cingular 2125 to restore factory settings.

A Cingular 2125 Smartphone master reset will clear all information stored on the phone, including your phonebook, recent calls, photos and text messages. The reset will also clear all personal preferences, such as ring-tones, and will return the phone to its original factory settings. After you have finished with the master reset, it can take up to 15 minutes for the phone to work normally again, according to ATT Wireless.

Instructions

Menu-Driven Reset

1. Select "Start" from the "Standby" menu screen.

2. Scroll until a "More" button appears at the bottom of the touch-screen. Touch "More." Repeat this step twice.

3. Scroll until "Accessories" is available as a menu item. Select "Accessories," which is displayed with an open manila folder as an icon.

4. Select "Clear Storage." The icon for clearing the phone's memory looks like a trash can with files and folders above it.

5. Enter the data required by the phone to complete the process. The Cingular 2125 Smartphone will ask you to enter a short word or number sequence, to ensure that the master reset is not done on accident. Once the sequence has been entered correctly, press "Yes."

Key-Driven Reset

6. Turn the phone off. Hold both of the phone's two push-button keys down while powering the phone back up.

7. Watch for a line of text asking you to push "0" to continue.

8. Push "0" to continue resetting your phone.
