Single Space In Microsoft Word 2007

Single Space in Microsoft Word 2007

The first major overhaul to the Microsoft Word program came in the 2007 version, which introduced an all-new user interface. As expected, the new button layout caused a few headaches for Word veterans who were used to the drop-down menu and toolbar setup. In turn, this made simple tasks, such as setting line spacing, more difficult for those not acclimated to the new user interface. However, after using Word 2007's Ribbon button interface, many users found the new layout intuitive.

Instructions

1. Open a Word 2007 document.

2. Choose the "Home" button at the top of the program. Notice that the Ribbon, the strip of buttons and options above the document, changes.

3. Highlight the text that you wish to change to single spacing. You can click and drag to select individual portions of the document or you can select all text by pressing "CTRL+A."

4. Click the spacing button in the "Paragraph" section of the Ribbon. A drop-down menu with line spacing options appears.

5. Choose "1.0" to set the line spacing to single-space for your selected text.
