Garmin Mobile is a BlackBerry application that provides GPS-enabled smartphones with turn-by-turn navigation, hands-free functionality and other features commonly found on Garmin GPS devices. As of November 2010, the application costs $99.99 and can be installed on many different BlackBerry models, including the Storm, Bold, Curve and Pearl.
Instructions
1. Ensure that your phone is compatible with the Garmin Mobile device by reviewing the list of compatible BlackBerry models (see Resources).
2. Purchase the Garmin Mobile application online (see Resources).
3. Navigate to myGarmin once you have completed your purchase and log in to your account (see Resources).
4. Locate the "Garmin Mobile" application and click "Activate Now" to send the installation file to your phone. Note the "Activation Code," as you will need this to complete installation on your BlackBerry device.
5. Open the text message from Garmin on your BlackBerry device.
6. Click "Get Link" to download the installation file and follow the on-screen instructions to complete installation. You will need to enter your "Activation Code" to complete installation. Once the program is installed, it will be available on your BlackBerry home screen.
