Delete A Password Protected Virus From A Computer

A password protected computer virus is one in which the computer's user would have to input a password made by the virus's creator in order to open or delete the file. It is very difficult to find a computer virus on your computer, and there is nothing worse than actually being able to find the problem but not being able to do anything about it because it is password protected. However, there is a very easy process the user can do that will remove any virus, whether it is password protected or not.

Instructions

1. Restart your computer in "Safe Mode." In order to do this, you need to press "F8" from your computer's beginning load up screen. This will lead to a black screen with a list of options, scroll down the list and select the open that says "Safe Mode."

2. Press the start windows button located at the bottom corner of the computer's desktop. After that, slide your mouse over "All Programs," and wait for the programs menu to open.

3. Scroll through the list of programs and slide your mouse up to highlight "Accessories" and then "System Tools." From the "System Tools" menu, select "System Restore."

4. Check the box next to "Restore my computer to a previous date," and press next. Choose a date prior to contracting the password protected computer virus. This process allows you to restore back as far as a month or more, so choose a date at least one week prior. None of your personal files will be lost when you restore your computer, and the process is completely reversible.

5. Press "Next" to confirm your wish to restore your computer. Let the system restore program load and your computer will automatically restart. Upon restarting, check to make sure the password protected virus is gone. If it is not, repeat the process and restore your computer to an even earlier date.
