Sync The Motorola Rizr Z3 Phone Book

Its easy to back up data from your Motorola phone using Bluetooth or the Internet.

The Motorola RIZR Z3 is a slider style cellular phone that was released in late 2006. Some of the features on it include a camera, a video recorder, an MP3 player and a push-to-talk feature that allows you to use your phone like a walkie-talkie. If you have stored a lot of text messages, contacts, emails or photographs on your Motorola RIZR Z3 it's a good idea to back them up. You can do this either on the Internet or by using the wireless Bluetooth to save them on your PC.

Instructions

Online

1. Turn on your Motorola RIZR Z3 phone and connect it to the Internet. Go to the main "Menu" of the Motorola RIZR Z3.

2. Select "Connection" and under the "Connection" menu, select "MOTOSYNC." Motosync is an application that enables the phone to sync to a partner.

3. Add a new entry on your Internet sync partner by choosing "Sync," then "New Entry." Type the required information about the server such as its server URL and data path. Press the "OK" button after you have entered the required information.

4. Sync your Motorola RIZR Z3 phone book to your Internet server. Go back to your "Menu" and select "Connection." Launch "Motosync" again and press "Sync." Your phone begins the syncing process with your Internet server. This will back up your phone book along with all of the other data on your phone, such as your text and email messages.

Using Bluetooth

5. Go to the "Main Menu" of your phone, navigate to "Bluetooth," select "On" and select "Make Discoverable." This makes your phone visible to other Bluetooth connections in your area.

6. Turn on the Bluetooth on your computer by going to the "Start Menu" and "Control Panel" and selecting "Bluetooth" devices. "Select "Add a Wireless Device." You will see your phone in the device list. Click "Next" and follow the prompts to pair the devices. You will need to enter a password. The default for Motorola phones is usually "8888" (without quotes) or "0000".

7. Go to the Phonebook that you want to back up on your computer by selecting "Main Menu" and scroll through it to access the phone book. Then press "Options" and "Send Via Bluetooth", select your computer and press "OK."
