My Nokia Internet Software Wizard Won'T Connect To The Internet

Two Nokia handsets

Synchronizing your phone with your computer allows you keep your handset's software up to date and back up any important information to your hard drive. If the software you loaded onto your computer to facilitate synchronization can't connect to the Internet, it will be unable to receive updates from your phone's manufacturer. If your Nokia synchronization suite is experiencing connection problems, simple steps can help fix the problem.

Instructions

Check Your Security Settings

1. Disconnect the phone from the computer.

2. Check your firewall and anti-virus settings. The Nokia synchronization application might have been added to a block list, which will deny it access to the Internet. Consult your security software's help section to establish where to find this.

3. Ensure that the Nokia PC suite is authorized to connect to the Internet.

Reinstall

4. Disconnect your phone from the computer.

5. Go to the "Control Panel" from the "Start" menu (the path will differ depending on your operating system).

6. Click on "Add or Remove Programs" or "Programs" and find the Nokia application from the list of programs installed on your computer.

7. Select "Uninstall" and follow the instructions to remove the program from your computer.

8. Visit the Nokia "Download software" page (see link in Resources).

9. Download the latest version of your phone's software by selecting it from the list presented and following the on-screen instructions to install.
