You can have your email forwarded to your mobile phone.
Do you find that you are constantly checking your emails on your Gmail account? If you need to have constant updates no matter where you are but don't always have Internet access, then forwarding incoming emails from your Gmail account to your mobile phone is a good option. With a few steps, you can set up your account to forward all or even specific incoming emails directly to your mobile phone. This can be expensive however, if you do not have a suitable text message plan with your provider.

1. Find out what your mobile phone's email address is if you don't already know. This should be your phone number followed by "@" then the provider's website domain address. For example if your phone number is 9095555055 and your provider is XYZ Wireless with website XYZwireless.com, your phone email address should be something like 9095555055@XYZwireless.com. To be sure what your address is, contact your wireless provider's customer service and ask them to provide you with your cell phone email address.
2. Visit the Gmail website and log into your account. Open the "settings" tab on the top right of the tool bar. Select the "forwarding and Pop/IMAP" tab.
3. Select the option to forward your emails, under the "Forwarding" heading. You will be prompted to enter an email address in a dialog box. Enter your phone's email address here.
4. Send yourself a test email. Have your mobile phone switched on. Compose an email and send it to your cell phone email address. Within minutes, your phone should receive a text message. Open your cell phone message inbox to ensure you received the message you just sent.
