Unlock A Nokia N91 Phone

Unlock your Nokia N91 to have a choice of service providers.

Most cell phones are programmed to connect only to their original service providers. When limited this way, the cell phones are considered locked. However, you can typically unlock these phones by removing the programming limitation, which will allow you to use other service providers with your phone. Unlock a Nokia N91 cell phone by removing the SIM card restriction.

Instructions

1. Turn on your Nokia N91 and press "*#06#." Write down the IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) number that appears. As an option, remove the back cover and the battery. Write down the IMEI number printed on the phone where the battery normally rests. This is typically a 15-digit number.

2. Call your mobile phone service provider's customer service line to request your unlock code. Give the representative your IMEI number when asked for it. Write down the unlock code.

3. Type "#PW+" on your phone's keypad. Enter your unlock code, then type "+1#" and check your phone's display. It should read, "SIM Restriction Off."

4. Turn off the phone and remove the back cover and battery. Remove your existing SIM card, and replace it with a SIM card from your new provider. Replace the battery and back cover. Restart the phone.
