Unlock your phone for use overseas.
Since the Nokia E73 works with the Global System for Mobile communication network, you have the ability to unlock it with a Subscriber Identity Module card. If you received your Nokia phone from an outside company, it may have a lock on it. This lock prevents you from switching mobile networks or using your phone in another country. To unlock your phone, you need to obtain an International Mobile Equipment Identification number from your mobile provider. This number helps to generate the appropriate unlock code for your phone. Your mobile provider can help you through the process.
Instructions
1. Enter *#06# into your phone. Write down the IMEI number that appears on the display.
2. Contact T-Mobile. Ask the representative for an unlock code. Provide your phone's IMEI number and model number.
3. Write down the unlock code. Disconnect the call with the representative.
4. Turn off your mobile phone. Remove the protective cover from the back. Take out the battery and SIM card.
5. Replace the SIM card with one from your new mobile provider. Reinsert the battery and protective cover.
6. Turn on your mobile phone. Enter "#7465625*638" and the provided unlock code, when prompted. Enter a pound key (#) at the end of the code. Your phone will restart and display the new network.
