Set Up Voice Mail On A Cell Phone From A Landline

Most cellular users opt to set up their voicemail from their cellphone, but you do have the option of setting it up from a landline instead. Most cellular carriers charge prepaid users for accessing their voicemail from their phone, so using a landline to set up your voicemail can save you minutes. When you call your voice mail from a landline, it dumps you into the same menu system as when you call from your cell.

Instructions

1. Dial your cellphone phone number. An automated voicemail greeting will start to play.

2. Press the * or # key to interrupt the greeting.

3. Enter your default voice mail password. Most carriers use the last four or seven digits of your phone number. If you are not sure, contact your cellular provider.

4. Follow the voicemail system prompts to change your password and set up your greeting. The menu choices vary depending on the carrier, so listen carefully and choose the appropriate selection.
