Unlock A Motorola V60

If your Motorola V60 cellular phone is locked, it means the phone will only work with one wireless network service provider (such as AT&T only, or T-Mobile only). To use a Motorola V60 cellular phone on a wireless network other than the one the phone is locked to, you must obtain the SIM unlock code unique to your particular Motorola V60 phone. Entering the phone's SIM unlock code into the phone will unlock it, allowing you to use the Motorola V60 on any GSM network carrier.

Instructions

1. Turn on the Motorola V60. Type *#06# into the phone to bring up the IMEI identification number unique to this specific Motorola V60 cell phone on the phone's display. (The IMEI number can also be found printed on a label adhered to the phone's battery compartment.)

2. Write down the IMEI number for your Motorola V60 phone.

3. Contact the current wireless network service provider for your Motorola V60. Ask the provider's customer service representative if the provider offers SIM unlock code service. Some wireless network service providers (such as AT&T and T-Mobile) provide their customers with the SIM codes needed to unlock the carrier's phones, at no additional charge, provided the customer satisfies certain service requirements. If the current wireless network service provider does offer SIM unlock services, you'll need to supply the customer service representative with the IMEI number for your Motorola V60 phone to obtain this code. This number is needed to calculate the unlock code specific to your phone. Skip Step 4 if you're able to obtain the SIM unlock code for your phone through the wireless network service provider. If you're unable to obtain the SIM unlock code for your phone through the wireless network service provider, proceed to Step 4.

4. Use one of the third-party SIM unlock code services linked from Resources, or shop around to select another third-party SIM unlock code service. You can purchase the SIM unlock code for your Motorola V60 phone from one of these service providers for a small fee. You'll be asked to provide the SIM unlock code service with the make (Motorola), model (V60), current network carrier (such as T-Mobile) and IMEI number of your phone.

5. Turn off the Motorola V60. Remove the phone's battery cover and take out the battery. The phone's SIM card compartment is located within the phone's battery compartment. Remove the current SIM card and replace with a SIM card issued by another GSM network carrier.

6. Re-insert the battery and put the phone's battery cover back on. Turn on the Motorola V60. With the foreign SIM card inserted, "Enter Special or Subsidy Code" should appear in the phone's display.

7. Enter the unlock code you obtained from either step 3 or 4. Your Motorola V60 is now unlocked.
