Block Unwanted Sms On Mobile Phones

Unwanted texts to your cell phone are a solvable inconvenience.

The problem of telemarketers has long plagued anyone who owns a landline, but now the problem has extended to people with cell phones and even to text messaging. Companies now send their pitches through SMS texts to mobile phones, a frustrating but solvable problem for cell phone users. If you are getting unwanted SMS texts, you can take a few steps depending on your carrier to block them.

Instructions

1. Go to the text messaging section of the AT&T website if they are your provider and log in. Click "Preferences" and navigate to the text-blocking option to block messages from selected email addresses and websites.

2. Go to the text messaging section of the Verizon website, log in and click on "Preferences," and then "Text Blocking." Choose to block text messages from email addresses or websites, or both, and choose which addresses or sites to block.

3. Go to Sprint's main website and click on "My Online Tools" at the top of the navigation bar. Click on "Text Message" under the "Communication Tools" heading, and navigate to the "Compose a Text Message" page. Click "Settings and Preferences." Enter a phone number, an email address or a website you wish to block.

4. Go to T-Mobile's main website, log in and click on "Communication Tools." You can choose to block messages sent through email, or you can filter out text messages that have certain phrases in them.

5. Visit the Do Not Call website and register your wireless number on the national Do Not Call List, or call 888-382-1222.
