Change The Security Code On Nokia Cell Phones

Use a security code that you can easily remember, but difficult for other people to guess.

Cell phones have become a necessity in our modern world. The latest models are now used not only for making calls, but for sending instant text messages, checking emails and managing business documents. Just like laptops, mobile phones have security codes to ensure that contacts and other information in your phone are safe. Nokia cell phones have factory-set security codes. However, it is best to change the security code on your Nokia cell phone to secure your contacts list, messages and other important information.

Instructions

1. Turn on your Nokia phone. Wait a few seconds until the phone applications load and the phone is ready for use.

2. Access the main menu of your phone. Go to the "Settings" folder and then select "Security." Click the "Access Code" options. This is where you can change the codes or passwords for your Nokia phone.

3. Select "Change Security Code" option. You will be prompted to enter your current security code. If you are doing this for the first time, the default code for Nokia cell phones is 12345.

4. Type your current security code and press "Ok." You will then be asked to enter your new security code. Depending on your Nokia phone model, you will be asked to enter a code that is between five to ten digits long.

5. Type in your new security code. Click "OK" when you are done. You will be prompted to enter the code once more for verification.

6. Type in your new code once more and click "OK." You will then see a message that says "Security code changed."
