Troubleshoot a Vizio LCD TV
Vizio is an electronics company that has become known for its manufacturing of flat-screen televisions that are sold for significantly less than better-known competitors such as Sony and Samsung. Part of the reason for this is Vizio avoids electronics stores and focuses its distribution through warehouse stores and discount locations like Walmart. Vizio puts a lot of focus on customer service and tries to make the process of troubleshooting its LCD televisions as simple as possible.
Instructions
1. Check the power cable to make sure the TV is properly plugged in and getting power if it is not turning on. Likewise, check the batteries in the Vizio remote, which has a battery port at the bottom of the device instead of the back like many remote controls. Ensure the power button is on, which will result in the Vizio logo on the TV glowing white.
2. Press the "Input" button on the remote if the TV is showing "No Signal." This will switch the TV to another input source, such as a DVD player or video game system, that is receiving power and providing a signal to the TV. The current input may not have anything hooked up to it.
3. Check your audio settings if there is no sound. Turn up the volume and press "Mute" on the remote to ensure the mute mode isn't activated. If your TV is in "SAP" mode in the audio settings of the main menu and there is no separate Spanish audio track, you'll get silence through the speakers until you turn SAP off.
4. Check the connections of any peripheral devices that are hooked up to the TV. If a DVD player or other device is not connected properly, it can interfere with TV operation.
5. Alter the "Color" and "Tint" settings if the coloring of the LCD screen is off. You can find them in the Picture menu of your set, which can be accessed through the Menu button on the remote. You can also reset picture settings entirely from there to set the picture back to factory standard.
6. Move the TV to another location if you are getting a distorted picture or sound since the TV may be picking up electronic interference from other devices in the vicinity.
7. Call Vizio Customer Service at 1-888-849-4623 if your TV is still not working properly.
