T-Mobile is a mobile phone provider that offers a variety of phones to purchase, data plans and Web services. If you have a T-Mobile phone but want to use it with another provider, you will have to unlock it. To unlock your phone, you will need to get an unlock code. You can purchase the unlock code through an online unlock code provider. Once you purchase your code, you can use it to sign up with other cellphone providers.
Instructions
1. Open your Web browser and navigate to gsmliberty.com.
2. Select your manufacturer, cell phone mode and cellphone provider from the drop-down menus provided. Locate your IMEI number underneath your phone's battery or you can press "#06#" on your phone to display the code. It should be a 15- or 17-digit code.
3. Type your IMEI number when prompted. This is used to provide the correct unlock code for your phone. Click "Add to Cart."
4. Enter your payment information when prompted and email address to get the unlock code. At timd of publication, the price for an unlock code is $14.95.
5. Wait for the unlock code to arrive in your email inbox. It should arrive within minutes of purchasing it.
