Update Discs for a Pacifica GPS
Many vehicles can be equipped with a GPS navigation system, including the Chrysler Pacifica, a midsize crossover. The Chrysler Pacifica uses a NavTeq navigation system to provide drivers with turn-by-turn directions to many North American destinations. It also comes with a large points of interest database, including tourist attractions, restaurants and hotels. The navigation system's maps and points of interest can be improved with updates from Chrysler. As of September 2010, an update may be purchased from Chrysler's NavTeq store for $199, then applied to the GPS.
Instructions
1. Go to Chrysler.com and click on "For Owners," located in the top right corner of the page. Click on "Buy Now" under the "NavTeq" heading. You are taken to the NavTeq store.
2. Click on "Pacifica," then click on your vehicle's year. The current map update is displayed. Click "Add to Cart," and "Checkout." Complete the order, and the update is mailed to you on DVD.
3. Start the engine of the Pacifica, and turn on the GPS. Eject the original DVD from the GPS, then insert the new one. Wait for the disc to load. When this process is complete, the new maps may be used.
