MP3 files can be streamed from the computer to the phone.
Nokia has a device partnership deal with Orb for the Nokia N-series phones. Orb is a Mac- and PC-compatible piece of software that allows you to stream your audio and video to phones. Assuming you have an "always-on" Internet connection and the media is compatible with the Nokia N95, all your computer's music--including Internet radio, podcasts and videos--can be streamed from the computer to the phone.
Instructions
1. Download and install Orb to your home computer. Use your web browser to visit the Orb website (see below) and download the software. Follow the on-screen prompts to install the software on your computer and set up your free account. Write down the Orb MyCast remote webpage that is associated with your account.
2. Launch Orb from your computer and the Orb home page will launch.
3. Add your computer's media to Orb. Look for the "Add Channels" button on the home page, click it and then click "Click to Add Channels." Choose the media folders on your computer which contain media you'd like to stream to the Nokia N95. Orb will index your computer.
4. Browse to the Orb MyCast page with the Nokia N95 browser using the details you wrote down in Step 1. Enter and submit your account information on the browser screen on your Nokia N95.
5. Scroll through the media on the Nokia N95. Click on a file name to play the media file. The appropriate media player will launch and the media file will stream.
