Full Version Word Games

Full version word games can be both entertaining, as well as educational. Many word games are available online, and are playable from all computer platforms. Other word games are designed specifically for educational gaming handhelds, though these games are most appropriate for elementary aged children. Word games are available in a wide variety of play styles, as well as several difficulty levels.

Qwerty Warriors

"Qwerty Warriors" is a flash game with a defense-style of play, where players type words to attack approaching enemies. As the game progresses, players face increasing amounts of enemies and must survive for as long as possible. The further into the game a player survives, the longer the words over the enemies become. This game has four difficulty levels for players of all skill levels.

Quick Words

In another flash game, "Quick Words", players unscramble letters as quickly as they can to form the maximum level of words. Each round is timed, and players must find a certain number of words to unlock the next level. "Quick Words" is a single player game with a random set of letters per round, and one difficulty level.

Leapster

On the Leapster line of handheld gaming systems, one of the full version word games available is "Letters on the Loose". In this game, players assist Professor Quigley to find escaped letters inside the letter factory. The game also features a 26 mini-games, all of which compliment the included interactive writing book where players record their progress.

MobiGo

Another portable handheld, the MobiGo system from Vtech, hosts several full version word games. "Toy Story 3", based on the film of the same name, teaches rhyming and letters, while "Marvel Super Hero Squad" teaches letters as well as vocabulary. Other MobiGo word games include "Ben 10" and "Dora the Explorer: Twins Day".
