Troubleshoot Low Volume On A Nokia N95 Music Player

With its multifunction capability as both a phone and a music player, the Nokia 95 is a powerful device. Unfortunately, as is the case with most types of electronics, it is also prone to eventual malfunction. When low volume issues arise, some steps taken on your end may help restore functionality without calling for technical assistance.

Instructions

1. Power cycle your Nokia N95: Hold down the power button, located on the top-right edge of the device, for several seconds to turn the N95 off. Immediately hold the button down again to power the device back up. Test the device's volume to see if the issue has been resolved.

2. Perform a soft reset on your device. This will return the N95's settings to the factory standard, resolving any low-level software issues that may be causing its volume to be low. To do this, enter "*#7370#" from the home screen. The device will then reset itself and power cycle automatically. Once it has loaded back up, test the issue for resolution once more.

3. Perform a master clear on your device. This will complete wipe the device of all data and install a fresh copy of the operating system, which is necessary to correct any corrupted system files that may have resulted in the volume issue. Do this by entering "*#7780#" from the home screen. Once the Nokia N95 resets itself and power cycles, test it again for resolution of the low-volume problem.

4. Contact your carrier for repair or replacement options if the preceding troubleshooting steps don't work. Unfortunately, internal hardware issues that cannot be resolved on your end may be the source of the issue, necessitating intervention by your carrier.
