Use Handsfree Cell Phones

In many countries there is a ban on holding your cell phones while driving. For this reason there has been an explosion of cell phones with hands-free options on the market. Hands-free phones have either speaker, headset or Bluetooth connectivity. Many people find these options to be convenient when shopping, driving, jogging or exercising.

Instructions

1. Ensure that your phone is capable of functioning as a hands-free phone. The instruction menu that came with your phone should state whether it has Bluetooth capability, speaker function or it may have come with a set of headphones. If you decide to use Bluetooth or speaker phone, follow the instructions in the instruction booklet or phone menu to find these settings in the cell phone's menu.

2. Use Bluetooth. Charge your Bluetooth headset and cell phone. Once they are fully charged, switch them both on. Select the Bluetooth option in your phone's menu, and then make it visible. It may be preset to invisible or hidden; switch this function to visible. You can change this function back after pairing the device. Sit the Bluetooth headset close to the cell phone and wait for the cell phone to pick up the signal of the earpiece. When this happens, you will see the headset name on the phone. Choose this device in the menu as a trusted device. Enter the passcode provided in the headset instruction manual (generic code is normally 0000). Insert the earpiece, and you will be able to take calls immediately.

3. Use an Earpiece. Some newer cell phone models come with headsets, very similar to earphones. Plug the earphones into the jack on your cell phone. There is no need to activate this feature, it assumes the job of the cell phone speakers and mouthpiece immediately. If your phone has no earphone set, look up your model on the manufacturers website to order this accessory; you can also find them in certain stores.

4. Use the speakerphone. Look in your phones menu to find this feature, or follow the instructions in the manual. This feature only works once you answer a call or when you are making a call.
