Sony Xl5200 Specifications

Replace the lamp in your HDTV and enjoy quality viewing.

The Sony XL-5200 is a replacement lamp for the company's "Grand Wega A Series" of HDTVs, including the 50-inch KDS-50A2000, 55-inch KDS-55A2000 and 60-inch KDS-60A2000. Since it comes with the module and housing included, the unit requires nothing but a three-inch Allen key to replace, putting quality images back on your television in little time at all.

General Specs

The 8-lb. XL-5200 measures 0.4-by-0.4-by-0.4-inches, and ranges in price from $85.85 to $250. Phillips or Osram (not Sony) are the main manufacturers.

Specifics

The Sony XL-5200 is pre-charged with approximately 15,000 volts. It lacks an interior filament like many other traditional bulbs since it's run by gas, a mercury vapor.

How Long They Last

XL-5200 lamps generally survive for about 2,000 to 3,000 hours of viewing. Newer-model Sony lamps can last up to 8,000 hours and provide a more consistent picture quality.
