Set Up Automatic Emails On Gmail

If you're going on vacation or want to take a break from email, you can have your email messages automatically responded to using Gmail's Autoresponder feature. When the Autoresponder is turned on and you receive a new mail message, a reply is automatically sent to the original sender containing whatever kind of reply you want.

Instructions

1. Sign in to your Gmail account at Gmail.com.

2. Click the gear icon at the top right corner of the screen, then click "Mail settings."

3. Scroll down to the section titled, "Vacation responder," and click the radio button next to "Vacation responder on."

4. Enter the date you'd like the autoresponder to begin working. You can optionally include an end date if you know when you're going to be back.

5. Enter a subject line for your email reply, then type the automatic response text into the "Message" box. When finished, click the "Save Changes" button at the bottom of the page. You've successfully set up automatic emails in Gmail.
