Add some personality to your cell phone by making your own custom ringtone
Making your own ringtone for your cell phone can add an extra touch of personality to your cell phone. It can also help identify your phone when you're in public, since most people have the same ringtone. There are many composers out there that can help you make a ringtone, but some will cost money and others can be complicated and tedious to use. The easiest and quickest way to make a ringtone for your cell phone is by using the MP3mer composer online.
Instructions
1. Go to www.mp3mer.com and click on the "Upload" button.
2. Browse through the files on your computer and locate the music file you want to turn into a ringtone. Once you find the files, double click on it and it will load into the composer. The music file has to be under 15 MB to upload (most music files are 3 or 4 MB).
3. Drag the markers around your music file to identify the start and end point of your ringtone. One of the markers will start your ringtone and one will end your ringtone.
4. Press the "Play Selected" button to sample your ringtone. If you don't like where your ringtone starts and ends, you can move your markers around to your liking. Keep sampling the selected area until you create a ringtone that you like.
5. Click on the "Download" drop-down menu and select a way to transfer the ringtone to your cell phone. You can download it to your computer and transfer it to your cell phone later, send it directly to your phone, or send it to your email and then email the tone to your cell phone.
6. Go to makeownringtone.com and click the "Upload" button.
7. Locate the audio file on your computer that you would like to turn into a ringtone. Your audio file can be located anywhere on your computer. If you downloaded it from the Web, it's likely located in your "My Documents" folder or your desktop. If you have no idea where your audio file is located, open the "Start" menu and click on "Search." Here you can type in the name of your file to find it. If you don't know the name of your file, you can simply search for "video, audio and images."
8. Select what part of your file you would like to turn into a ringtone by positioning the "Start" and "Finish" markers to your liking.
9. Press the "Play Selected" button to sample your ringtone. If you don't like it, you can reposition the markers to your liking.
10. Click on the "Download" drop-down box and select a method to get your ringtone. If you download it to your computer, you will have to connect your phone to your computer and then transfer the file. You can connect your phone to your computer with the USB cable that came with your device. You can then click and drag the ringtone to your phone's folder, which is located in your "My Computer" folder.
11. Go to www.tonebee.com and sign up for a new account (it's free). The "Join Now" button will be one of the first things you see on the website.
