Use Fring On The Ipod

Fring is a free voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) calling application that is available as a free download for the iPod Touch from Apple's App Store. The application features free two-way video calling to other Fring users, and you can use the application over any available Wi-Fi network.

Instructions

1. Download the "Fring" application on your iPod Touch. Tap the "APP Store" application and then select the "Search" option. Type "Fring" in the search bar and then select the "Fring" application. Press the "Free" button and then press "Install" to download and install the application to your iPod Touch.

2. Attach the iPod ear buds with a microphone to your iPod Touch device. The ear buds connect directly to the headphone jack on your iPod Touch and have a small microphone built in the wire. You can purchase iPod ear buds with a microphone directly from Apple or from a variety of companies that make less expensive aftermarket versions. Once connected, the iPod Touch will automatically recognize and use the microphone on the iPod Touch ear buds. The iPod Touch does not offer a built-in microphone option.

3. Press the "Fring" icon on your iPod Touch.

4. Press the "Login" button and enter your username and password. If this is the first time you are using the application, you will need to create a free account. Enter the requested information and select a username and password.

5. Press the "Buddy List" icon and select the person you would like to call. The application automatically pulls all of the contacts from your iPod Touch's address book. Select the contact you would like to call. If the contact does not already have a Fring account, you can send the contact an invitation to create a free Fring account.

6. Wait while your iPod Touch dials the contact you have selected. When the contact answers the call you can begin your telephone conversation.

7. Press "End Call" to terminate the conversation.
