Unlock A Nokia Gophone

A GoPhone can be unlocked for use on other networks.

There are numerous reasons to unlock a phone that is locked to a network. For example, if traveling abroad, you can rack up huge roaming charges that can be avoided by buying a local SIM card; however, that SIM card will not work on a locked phone. Furthermore, if you decide you want to use your Nokia on another North American network, you will not be able to. Fortunately, cellular phones with SIM cards, such as the Nokia's Go Phones, can be easily unlocked.

Instructions

1. Type *#06# on the Go Phone to obtain the IMEI number. This is a 15-digit code that identifies any individual phone worldwide.

2. Obtain an unlock code for the phone. Certain cell phone providers will provide unlock codes. Codes can also be obtained through a number of online services such as gsmliberty.net and cellcorner.com.

3. Enter the code: "#PW+". For the phone to display "P," push "*" 3 times in one second. For "W" press "*" four times in one second. For "+", push "*" 2 times in one second.

4. Enter the unlock code and the phone should provide a message indicating that it has been unlocked.
