If you want to modify, upgrade, or change the SIM card on a Motorla Razr phone, you will need to take it apart without scratching the paint or affecting the hardware. Disassembling the Razr phone is a relatively simple process and you only need a few small tools to open it.
Instructions
1. Remove the battery door. Flip the Razr phone over and pop open the battery door using a small flathead screwdriver or the plastic card.
2. Remove the SIM card. The SIM card will be located under a clip on the right side of the phone. Gently tug on it to pull it out from the top.
3. Loosen the T6 screws. You will see two silver T6 screws, one on either side of the phone. Unscrew these using the T6 screwdriver and set them aside in a safe place.
4. Remove the bottom of the Razr. You will need to gently pull apart the bottom of the phone, using a SIM card or another thin card. Avoid using a screwdriver for this because it is easy to scratch or damage the phone with a sharp object.
5. Pull the phone apart. There is one more small piece of plastic holding the phone together, but it will come apart when you pull gently on the bottom of the phone.
6. Remove the keypad. Bend the small metal tabs holding the keypad in place on the inside of the phone. Use the T5 or T6 screwdriver to pry them upward so that the keypad cover can be removed.
7. Remove the screen. Use the T5 screwdriver to remove the rubber dots in each corner of the screen, then unscrew the T5 screws in each corner. The screen can be moved easily with your fingers or the SIM card.
8. Unclip the cover. Gently pull up the cover of the Razr to remove the entire cover off the phone. The cover is connected with small plastic clips on both sides. And it can be snapped in and out with light pressure.
