Unlock A Nokia 1600 For Free

Unlock your Nokia 1600 for use on other networks.

The Nokia 1600 is a cell phone originally released in 2005. It's a GSM-enabled phone and can be used on different networks throughout the world. You'll have to unlock it to use it on an alternate network. This enables you to swap out your phone's SIM card for one belonging to another carrier.

Instructions

1. Type "*#06#" into your Nokia 1600 phone to reveal its unique IMEI number. Take note of this number and set it aside momentarily.

2. Contact your service provider and request an unlock code. Reasons people often need an unlock code include traveling overseas or selling the phone. Give the provider your mobile number, IMEI number and email address.

3. Turn off your Nokia 1600 and remove its SIM card (located beneath the battery). Turn your phone back on without any SIM card in it.

4. Type "#pw+unlock code+1#" into your phone's keypad after it's been powered on. To get the "+" symbol, press the "*" button twice. To get the letter "p," press the "*" button three times. To get the letter "w," press the "*" button four times. Your phone is now unlocked.
