The Maxx VE, part of Motorola's line of RAZR mobile phones, was released in 2007 as a midlevel multimedia flip phone. It features a built-in digital camera, 2.2-inch LCD display and a digital MP3 player and recorder. You must know disassemble the phone if you plan to repair, replace or troubleshoot your Maxx VE phone's internal components. The main drawback is that doing this yourself will void your phone's warranty.
Instructions
1. Power down the phone, close the flip screen and place the phone face down on a flat surface. Remove the battery cover and lift the battery pack out of its compartment.
2. Remove the Torx screws from the phone's back casing. Use a credit card to pry the back housing from the phone to reveal the main circuit board. Disconnect all visible ribbon cables from the main circuit board. Loosen any Torx screws fastening the circuit in place.
3. Lift the board out of the phone slightly and disconnect the ribbon cables from the opposite side of the circuit board. Remove the circuit board from the phone.
4. Place the phone face up, and open the flip screen. Insert a credit card into the front panel of the display screen. Pry the panel from the phone to reveal the entire LCD screen. Remove the six visible Torx screws from the front of the screen.
5. Close the flip screen and grasp the left side of the visible cover. Tilt it upward to the right until the secondary display screen is revealed. Disconnect the ribbon cable from the circuit board around the display, and remove the plastic cover from the phone.
6. Disconnect all visible cables from the circuit board area surrounding the display screen. Lift the entire LCD screen assembly out of the phone's housing and set it aside.
