You don't need a wired Internet connection if you have a Verizon Wireless data plan.
Verizon Wireless used to limit accounts to 5 gigabytes of data transfer, but now it's possible to get more, depending on where you are in the United States. Using the Verizon Wireless network, you can connect to the Internet with your cell phone, PCMCIA or ExpressCard data card, or USB cellular modem. This allows you to get wireless Internet even where there are no hot spots or wired data connections available. The Verizon Wireless 3G network provides speeds up to 1.4 Mbps and the 4G network provides speeds up to 10 times faster, so you'll need that extra capacity.
Instructions
1. Call Verizon Wireless customer care, or go into a Verizon Wireless store.
2. Talk to a representative and give him your account number.
3. Change your data plan to the 10 GB data plan for $80, as of December 2010. With this plan, you'll have more than 5 GB of data transfer per month.
