Skype is a software application that allows for free Skype-to-Skype calls by utilizing an Internet connection. Long popular on computers, Skype released an application for the iPhone and iPod touch in 2009. Skype on the iPhone offers the same free Skype-to-Skype calling options and low cost calls to mobiles and landlines as the desktop version. The Skype interface on the iPhone integrates with the Address Book and the Camera Roll.
Instructions
1. Turn on the iPhone. Tap the "App Store" icon on the home screen.
2. Tap the "Search" icon at the bottom of the screen.
3. Type "Skype" into the "Search" box and tap the "Search" button.
4. Tap on the "Skype name or icon in the search results. Read the information about the app and view any reviews.
5. Tap the button that reads "Free" to initiate the download. Enter your Apple ID and password when prompted to do so.
6. Wait while the program downloads. Tap the "Skype" icon on the iPhone. Enter your Skype account information. Now Skype is read for use any time you have a Wi-Fi connection.
