Check For Bluetooth On Your Laptop

Check for Bluetooth on Your Laptop

Bluetooth technology, well known for its uses with mobile devices, has been called "cord replacement technology" due to its advances and integration with modern devices and computer systems. Commonly used in cell phones and PDAs, Bluetooth technology has moved to more devices, such as laptops, speaker systems and mouse/keyboard sets. Bluetooth itself is a short-range wireless technology that operates on a special frequency. It is now common in laptops, and checking for it is very simple.

Instructions

1. Click on the "Start" menu, and click "Control Panel."

2. Click on "Network and Internet." In Windows XP, click "Network and Internet Connections."

3. Look for a section in the window called "Bluetooth Devices," which will include options like "Set up a Bluetooth enabled device" and "Change settings for a Bluetooth enabled device." If you do not see these options, your laptop more than likely does not have Bluetooth capabilities.
