The LG VX5200 is a flip-style mobile phone released in 2005 for users on the Verizon Wireless network. The VX5200 has a clam-shell design where you can see incoming calls and alerts from the main screen or flip it open to make calls, type and use the phone's features. The VX5200 uses CDMA technology, so you don't need a SIM card to make or receive calls.
Screen and Battery
The LCD display screen has 16-bit color so you can see up to 65,000 different colors. All images on the screen show at a resolution of 128 pixels by 160 pixels. The screen fits nine lines of text. The VX5200 has a lithium-ion battery that lasts up to three hours and 20 minutes of constant usage or seven days and 12 hours on standby mode. The battery's capacity is 1,000 mAh, or milliamp hours.
Storage and Calling
The VX5200 has 16 megabytes of internal storage space and allows you to enter up to 500 contacts in the phone book. You can add multiple numbers for all your contacts rather than entering each one separately. The phone works on the 800 and 1900 CDMA frequencies. You can use a conference call feature to include three total parties on a call or speakerphone to talk hands-free. Caller ID and voice calling functions are also included.
Media
The VX5200 has a digital camera that takes photos at a resolution of 640 pixels by 480 pixels. The camera has a flash for dim lighting and a self timer so you can get in your own photos. A video recorder is also included. You can access the Internet using the WAP 2.0 Web browser and connect through Verizon's 1xRTT network. A headphone jack is present if you want to listen to audio on your phone privately.
Organization and Other Features
The VX5200 has an alarm clock and organizational calendar for entering appointments and important dates you don't want to forget. The To-Do List function is for making brief lists of tasks. The phone's calculator adds, subtracts, multiplies and divides. You can also figure out how much of a tip you should leave at a restaurant. The VX5200 has a USB port so you can connect to your computer and transfer files and photos back and forth.
