Unlock your Nokia 6030B cell phone and use any service provider you want.
Unlocking your Nokia 6030B will allow you to make and receive both calls and text messages with foreign SIM cards. In other words, you can use any service provider you want. All you have to do is purchase a pre-paid SIM card from that carrier. This becomes particularly convenient when traveling abroad, since long distance and roaming charges tend to rise drastically when you're outside of the service provider's home country. With the right knowledge and a few minutes time, you too, can unlock your Nokia 6030B.
Instructions
1. Power on your phone and navigate to the home screen.
2. Type "*#60#" with your keypad. Your IMEI number should pop up. Write this number down on a separate piece of scrap paper.
3. Call the customer service line for your cellular service provider. Ask them if they can give you the unlock code.
4. Remove your SIM card. Type in the unlock code that you obtained in the previous step. An alert should appear that says "SIM Restriction Off." Your phone is now unlocked.
5. Insert the new foreign SIM card and power the phone back on. You are now free to send and receive both calls and text messages with your new service provider or pre-paid foreign SIM card.
