If you have a smartphone, then it is useful to keep the device as updated as possible. Unlike old mobile phones where there weren't software updates, smartphones often release new versions of operating systems. If you have a Verizon Treo 700W running Windows Mobile, then Palm (the device's manufacturer) has released an updater. This updater will upgrade your operating system with all the latest features.
Instructions
1. Download the Updater for your Palm Treo (see Resources).
2. Double-click on the zip archive.
3. Turn your phone off and remove the battery cover. Take out the battery for a second. Reinsert the battery. Turn your phone on and wait for it to start up.
4. Connect your Palm Treo to your computer and wait for ActiveSync to open. Double-click on the "Verizon1.2DesktopUpdater-rev1.exe" file inside the zip archive.
5. Follow the on-screen instructions to upgrade your operating system to the latest version. This takes approximately 30 minutes.
